Brian Putzke

Brian Putzke

Chief Executive Officer

With 40 years in the transportation industry, Brian has done it all: from loading, driving and dispatching the truck, to making the sale, to operating and billing the load. In 2001, he took the next logical step – founding Momentum Transportation USA in his garage in Jacksonville, Florida. From that humble beginning, Brian has successfully steered the company into a growing $200 million business that employs more than 85 people. Born and raised in Wisconsin, he is a proud Green Bay Packers Fan.

Mike Cobb

President & Chief Operating Officer

Mike Cobb joined Momentum in 2022 as Chief Operating Officer, bringing 30 years of transportation experience to one of Landstar’s top agencies. He leads Momentum’s sales and operations teams for all domestic and international transportation. Mike spent 28 years at Landstar corporate, and has served on numerous industry boards, including the Truckload Carriers Association, the Florida Trucking Association and the National Safety Council. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Chaminade University of Honolulu.

Laura Homsey

Laura Homsey

Chief Financial Officer

Since 2007, Laura has brought her considerable accounting expertise to Momentum Transportation USA, helping make it the financially-sound and stable company it is today. Her areas of responsibility include accounting, human resources, and billing. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Jacksonville University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Central Florida.  She is a proud & avid Jacksonville Jaguars fan.

David Hoppens

David Hoppens

Vice President of Sales and Marketing

David brings over 30 years of transportation and supply chain services experience to Momentum Transportation USA. His sales, marketing and business unit leadership at companies including CSX Transportation, Pacer International and U.S. Xpress, make him the ideal person to lead sales and marketing. He has served as President and Chairman of the Transportation Marketing and Sales Association. He holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Florida.

James Carithers

James Carithers

Vice President of Operations

James joined Momentum in April 2011, starting as an intern during college. He has worked in Tracking, Customer Satisfaction, Dispatch, and eventually worked his way up to the roles of Operations Manager as well as Key Account Director for Sales & Operations. He is now the VP of Operations and leads the four operations groups within Momentum. James holds an MBA and Bachelor’s Degrees in both Transportation & Logistics and International Business from the University of North Florida.

Katie Morrison

Katie Morrison

Director of International, Intermodal & LTL Operations

As a licensed US Customs Broker, Katie is experienced in international logistics including US inland freight transportation, import and export ocean transport, documentation (for several government agencies such as the Federal Maritime Commission, TSA, Bureau of Industry and Security, US Census and Customs) and regulatory requirements. She is responsible for multiple teams for Momentum, including ocean, air, rail, drayage, intermodal and white glove.

Director of NATG Operations

Craig started with Momentum after graduating from The University of North Florida in 2007 with a degree in Transportation and Logistics. He has been a part of our new growth and development team helping Momentum grow into one of the top logistics companies in Jacksonville. He currently leads operations for one of our largest accounts and has been a pivotal member of the Momentum team in expanding our customer base.

Director Key Account Sales

Becky came to Momentum in 2010 with a background in sales and marketing and a bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of North Florida. Becky has held various positions within the company, allowing her to grow her expertise in domestic (truckload, LTL, heavy and specialized) and international (ocean and air) logistics. She is now Director of Key Account Sales with a primary focus on our growing mission critical business segment.

Shaelee Bonday

Shaelee Bonday

Director of Billing

Shaelee holds a Professional Designation in Logistics and Supply Chain Management certificate and has over 25 years of billing experience. She manages the billing team and is responsible for authorizing carrier payments, customer invoicing, collection assistance and reporting. Shaelee works diligently to ensure her team delivers timely and accurate customer invoicing.

Director Key Account, Sales & Operations

Joey Homsey joined Momentum in May 2016, starting as an intern during college. He has worked in Tracking, Dispatch, White-Glove Operations, Analyst roles, and eventually worked his way up to Operations Manager. He is now the Key Account Director for Sales & Operations overseeing departments for our CGP accounts. Joey holds an MBA with a concentration in Supply Chain Management and a Bachelor’s Degrees in Transportation & Logistics from the University of North Florida.

Curt Boyden

Curt Boyden

Director of Heavy Haul

Curt is a team player with 20+ years in the Heavy Haul Transportation Industry and holds a degree in Business Management Specializing in Transportation. He started his career in the transportation industry, working on the freight docks trans-loading trucks in southern Canada. He worked as a company driver and owner-operator hauling general freight, then moved into the oil field industry, hauling oversized loads throughout the USA and Canada. Since 2000, Curt has been working strictly in heavy haul and super loads.

Ongoing commitment to sustainability

Sustainability is an increasing concern. Momentum has a Green Alliance Sustainability Team tasked with finding ways to conduct business responsibly for our community, customers and environment. We believe that small things, done right can have a real impact.

As an agency, Momentum recycled 3,860 pounds of paper (in addition to all plastic and aluminum cans) in 2021, saving 33 trees and 13,496 gallons of water!

Through Landstar, many other sustainability initiatives are put into place in an effort to raise awareness on reducing environmental impact.
